An evolution of the original Citation Jet, the CJ1/CJ1+ (also known as the Cessna 525) are part of the light jet segment of the American company Cessna. Thanks to their performance, these light private jets have quickly become popular in the USA and Europe for short-haul flights. Economy, comfort and performance are the key words for these jets. With a take-off range of less than 1,000 metres and a landing range of less than 800 metres, the CJ1 and CJ1+ are suitable for the most difficult and inaccessible runways. And thanks to technical improvements – including an enhanced flight system on the CJ1 variant – operating costs are reduced to a minimum, to the delight of passengers.
- Interior
The CJ1 and CJ1+ have been improved to make the cabin environment more conducive to working or relaxing. The CJ1+’s enhanced cabin soundproofing is a real bonus. Both the CJ1 and CJ1+ are equipped with folding tables, a refreshment area for hot and cold drinks, a small galley and a separate toilet. The large cabin of this aircraft offers a very spacious feeling for the size of the aircraft.
- Performance
The CJ1 and CJ1+ have a very attractive engine performance for their class. Fuel efficient due to improved avionics, the CJ1 and CJ1+ can reach a maximum speed of 706 km/h and an estimated flight distance of 1,945 km, depending on the flight conditions. Renting a Citation CJ1 makes sense for short flights of less than 2 hours – beyond that it is sometimes better to upgrade to the higher model, the Citation CJ2.
