PRESENTATION AND GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
The Dornier 328 is a twin-engine aircraft that can be found in a variety of forms (both interior and exterior) in private aviation. Few airlines still operate the Dornier 328 on scheduled routes, but on the VIP and corporate charter market, this aircraft fills a real gap. While many large private jets offer only 15 seats, and regional jets typically 40 or more, the Dornier 328 offers an ideal solution for VIP groups on short- and medium-haul flights.
Indeed, this aircraft is used by many companies for group travel, sports teams and VIP groups. It features a spacious cabin with 3 possible configurations: a 12 to 15-passenger configuration with an Executive Jet layout – a configuration of up to 26 passengers, with a business-class layout – or a 32-passenger commercial configuration. Whatever the choice of layout, the cabin remains quiet and truly comfortable.
Of course, in addition to its cabin design, equipment varies according to the configuration chosen, these will contribute to passenger comfort and a galley allows the crew to prepare snacks and refreshments.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The Dornier 328 offers a choice of two propulsion concepts: turboprop or turbojet. The “standard” version of the Dornier 328 is equipped with two turboprops, making the aircraft surprisingly economical on shorter routes.
The Dornier 328JET version, on the other hand, is powered by two engines, making it faster and extending its non-stop range. In all cases, this aircraft offers significant operational advantages over larger private jets. It can operate from short runways and is certified to use technical airports such as London City.
