The Al-Mustansiriya madrasa
Built in 1233 on the banks of the Tigris, the Al-Mustansiriya madrasa is one of the oldest universities in the Muslim world, with its large courtyard lined with brick arcades.
Founded in the 8th century on the banks of the Tigris, Baghdad was one of the great capitals of the medieval world, and Iraq is home to the sites of Babylon and Ctesiphon. Today, its visitors are mainly delegations, executives and corporate teams. Chartering a private jet to Baghdad requires special preparation: every trip is assessed case by case, with authorised operators, taking into account official travel advice and the situation at the time of the flight. A member of the Air Charter Association and the EBAA, MK Partnair charters your flight with certified operators.

The Tigris crosses the city from north to south, between wooded islands and old districts. Nearby, Al-Mutanabbi Street, the booksellers' street, and the Iraq Museum tell of the city's cultural wealth.
South-east of Baghdad, the Sasanian arch of Taq Kasra at Ctesiphon is one of the largest brick vaults ever built; further south, Babylon is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In town, the Babylon Rotana welcomes business travellers.
For a delegation, a sports team, a seminar or a group of guests, MK Partnair also charters airliners to Baghdad. Baghdad International Airport handles airliners: we choose the aircraft that suits your group and prepare the permits.
Discover group charter →Baghdad International Airport (BGW), about 16 km west of the centre, has a separate VIP terminal for private flights. A landing permit is required for every flight: we prepare it with the operator.
For Iraq, the situation is assessed case by case. In October 2026, the UK Foreign Office advises against all but essential travel to Baghdad province, and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency recommends that European operators do not operate in Iraqi airspace (recommendation valid until 16 November 2026). We only consider a flight with authorised operators, and confirm it only once permits are obtained and the situation has been checked.
