Bulgaria's main airport, Sofia Airport lies about 8 km east of the centre, on the plateau that stretches out at the foot of Mount Vitosha. Its 3,600 m runway handles every private jet as well as airliners. From here, you can reach the ministries and company headquarters in the centre as easily as the ski resorts of Borovets and Bansko.
Bulgaria has been fully part of the Schengen area since 1 January 2025: a flight from France or Switzerland does not go through border police. From the UK, checks take place on arrival.
At over 500 m above sea level, Sofia has cold winters, with snow and fog. We arrange de-icing and choose operators used to these conditions.
In winter, weekends are the busiest time for skiers heading to Borovets or Bansko. Book early: we arrange the flight and the transfer to the resort.
