The gateway to north-west Sardinia, Alghero-Fertilia Airport lies near the village of Fertilia, about ten kilometres north-west of Alghero. Its 3,000 m runway handles every aircraft, from Light Jets to airliners, and airlines operate scheduled flights there, especially in summer. Within fifteen minutes by road you are in Alghero's old town and its sea-facing ramparts; the cliffs of Capo Caccia, the beaches of Stintino and the colourful village of Bosa are an easy drive away.
From June to September the airport receives many holiday flights: schedules and parking for private aircraft should be booked early. The earlier you ask, the wider the choice of aircraft.
Italy is part of the Schengen area: from France or Switzerland, there is no passport check. From the UK, police and customs checks take place on arrival.
Allow about 15 minutes to Alghero, half an hour to Capo Caccia, 45 minutes to Stintino and around an hour to Bosa along the coast road. We arrange your chauffeur-driven transfer as soon as you land.
